Solution (Corrosion)
This is a chemical process of erosion in which weak carbonic acid in seawater can dissolve and break-down calcium carbonate based rocks such as chalk and limestone. The rock is then transported away in solution. As a general rule, solution becomesmore effective as temperatures increaseso it is likely to be a more important process in a tropical area than in a cold climate.
